After upgrading to windows 8.1 64b Taichi21 does not switch to tablet mode when closing the lid. In general, the tablet mode doesn't seem to work after the upgrade.

All modern processors are 64 bit, so your tablet may have had 32 bit installed due to low RAM or a weak CPU. Less than 2gb RAM runs 32 bit better. So there may be a reason it has 32 bit. But you're entitled to run either 32- or 64-bit with each license, so you can try it if you want by doing a Clean Install Windows 10.

Surface book 2 not charging Hello, I noticed today my surface book 2 does not charge while plugging in the charger. I tried both while docking the keyboard in laptop mode and in tablet mode but both does not show any indication of charging. I also noticed the charger does not light up that white led to indicate charging.
I had the same issue in the past, when after a windows update the flickering started, the way I was able to solve it back then was to uninstall the update and stop windows from updating again. A month ago I had to reinstall the windows and everything was working fine until I got this big October update installed.
